Winter storm, Texas: warm temperatures, price drops
A warming trend brought Texas welcome relief after recovering from a winter storm on Sunday At its mighty peak, more than 4 million people were left without Electricity and more than 14 million under boiling water advice.
What AccuWeather described as “one of the stormiest weather patterns in decades” last week sparked snow and ice circles propelled by arctic air displaced by the polar vortex.
Over 70 deaths have been linked to the intense cold and noxious storms. About half of the deaths reported to date have occurred in Texas, including several related to carbon monoxide poisoning and house fires in areas where power was cut and people were struggling to keep warm.
Several deaths also occurred in Tennessee, Kentucky, Oregon, and some southern and midwestern states.
