The U.S. Capitol Police will issue a vote of no confidence on Thursday

Officials recently told CNN that intelligence services and business disruptions made them vulnerable to the attack, and they fear current leadership will be unable to cope with future incidents.

Gus Papathanasiou, chairman of the union who represents ordinary officers, told CNN the vote was aimed at top leadership, including incumbent chief Yogananda Pittman, deputy chief Chad Thomas, incumbent deputy chief Sean Gallagher, and deputy chief Jeffrey Pickett , Deputy Chief Timothy A. Bowen and Deputy Chief Eric Waldow. The executives can vote on any person.

A separate ballot will be available for officers working in the department’s Capitol division and will be asked to vote on a captain in that division, Papathanasiou said.
