The Chicago Teachers Union Voted early Wednesday to approve a preliminary proposal from the district that would allow students to return to the classroom in person Learn.

The ordinary members’ vote on the proposed framework for return to face-to-face classes was confirmed shortly before 12:30 p.m. on the Chicago Sun-Times reported that the proposal was accepted with 68% of the votes. According to the paper, 5,000 members failed to vote, indicating simmering tensions within the union.
