The Democrats this week called for the expulsion of the first term Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia for repeating anti-Semitic tropes and reinforcing dangerous – and discredited – QAnon conspiracy theories.

False allegations of mass electoral fraud – disinformation that perpetuated Greene – contributed to the deadly Capitol Rebellion.

“President Trump did not cause the attack on the Capitol on January 6,” Greene said on January 28 in a town hall.

For his part, former President Trump has bypassed QAnonand claims he knows little about a movement at the center of his support.

“I heard these are people who love our country.” Mr Trump said in August 2020.
