The California professor has taken paid administrative leave after the video shows him chastising a hard-of-hearing student
A two-minute video surfaced last Thursday that was split into three parts for TikTok and showed a zoom shot from a physiology class at Oxnard College that day, taught by Professor Michael Abram, identified in the video by name and by a student in its class.
CNN contacted Abram multiple times via email and phone but received no response.
When the posted video begins, it is not clear whether the professor knows that the student, who later identifies herself as hearing impaired in the video, needs hearing assistance. CNN does not name the student because she refused to speak to us.
He asks the student, who says she can hear him a little, why she didn’t answer.
“Can you hear me a little? Asks Abram.” Why didn’t you answer all the times I spoke to you back then?
