The rocket will take off from NASA Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia, from Pad 0B of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at 7 p.m. ET.

The National Awareness BureauThe US government agency responsible for America’s intelligence satellites will launch three new satellites on Minotaur 1, said US Air Force Col. Chad Davis, director of the NRO’s Office of Space Launch.

“We are the nation’s eyes and ears in space,” said Davis. “On any given day, around 500,000 people access information drawn from information gathered by NGO systems.”

This intelligence is used to make critical national security decisions and aid U.S. war fighters, he added.
