Barbarita Acosta, or lovingly called Barbie, is celebrating her first birthday this weekend. The child has already overcome extraordinary medical opportunities. Barbie was born with newborn lupus, a rare condition that attacked her heart. When she was only five days old, she was given a pacemaker. But after a few weeks the doctors said she needed to find a heart donor. “They told us that same day that at the end of the night she would save her life,” said mother Angel Moreno. “So we came home and packed as soon as possible. And we just got in the car and followed the helicopter.
