Pfizer, Moderna, J&J promise 240 million Covid-19 vaccine doses by the end of March
Pfizer and Moderna – the two companies with Covid-19 vaccines approved in the US for emergency use – have committed to have a total of 220 million doses ready for shipping by the end of March. Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson, which could get emergency approval for its Covid-19 vaccine from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration later this week, has pledged to provide 20 million doses over the same period.
“With the emergency clearances coming in this week, we hope we can help end this pandemic as soon as possible,” said Dr. Richard Nettles, J & J’s vice president of medical affairs, told lawmakers.
Nettles said the company is ready to ship nearly 4 million doses immediately after the vaccine is approved.
