North Dakota House passes law banning the wearing of masks
The North Dakota House of Representatives passed legislation on Monday to make future mask mandates illegal.
The Grand Forks Herald reported that the bill passed 50-44. Next up is the Senate.
The bill comes three months after North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum (R) issued a nationwide mask mandate, despite the governor himself previously expressing skepticism about such a move.
Bill’s sponsor, Rep. Jeff Hoverson (R), called mask mandates “diabolical silliness” and characterized them as a conspiracy led by “unelected, wealthy bureaucrats who rob our freedoms and perpetuate lies,” the Herald reported.
