Cuomo faces a revolt as lawmakers remove him from the pandemic
ALBANY, NY – The New York State Senate Democratic leaders prefer to strip Governor Andrew M. Cuomo of the unilateral emergency powers granted during the pandemic and are making a notable reprimand for the governor by members of his own party.
Senate actions, which could be voted on as soon as next week, underscore the growing divide between Mr Cuomo and state lawmakers as the governor admitted deliberately withholding critical data on virus-related deaths from lawmakers.
