Chicago Public Schools reached a preliminary agreement with the teachers’ union, the mayor says

The plan has yet to be ratified by the CTU House of Delegates, officials confirmed in a press conference on Sunday. The union before the press conference, said it had “no agreement yet” with city officials who said they would continue discussions with their ordinary members throughout Sunday.

“We are here to announce the very good news that our children will be learning in person again this week,” Lightfoot said at a press conference on Sunday.

“This agreement was about making sure that everyone in our school communities is not safe, but that they feel safe,” said Lightfoot. “And that their lived experiences, fears and frustrations were heard.”
