Ahmaud Arbery’s estate claims DA intervened personally to stop arrests and cover up the killing

Ahmaud Arbery’s estate filed a civil rights suit against the Georgia county where he was killed and a number of law enforcement officers on Tuesday, the year-long anniversary of his assassination.
The core of the lawsuit is that officials are illegally representing the 25-year-old black man’s killers and covering up his death.
Arbery was on the street in Glynn County, Georgia when three white men chased and fatally shot him; Travis McMichael, accused of firing the fatal shot, allegedly used a racist bow while standing over his body.
The three men charged with murder – Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael and William “Roddie” Bryant – are also named as defendants in Tuesday’s suit. All three pleaded not guilty of murder.
