“I really don’t think either of us should answer that question,” said one contender, Eliza Orlins, when her opponents expressed their approval.
Despite the candidates’ best efforts to avoid this, the question hangs over the hotly contested race for the next Manhattan District Attorney. The prestigious law enforcement agency has been scrutinizing the former president for more than two years and this week won a highly competitive legal battle in the Supreme Court to get Mr. Trump’s tax return.
