“A plane just crashed in our backyard!” South Carolina students say the pilot stayed away from home
A student in South Carolina said he and his roommates count their blessings on the moments when a small plane narrowly missed their home and crashed into their back yard on Wednesday morning.
Charles Grondines, a 21-year-old student at the University of South Carolina, said his roommate saw the plane fly straight towards his Columbia home in thick fog before performing an evasive maneuver.
“He comes right up to us and then turns around at the last second and his wing cuts off the roof of the house across from us and then it kind of whirls into our back yard,” Grondines continued.
