MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WISH / AP) – One employee died and another was injured after police alleged an inmate who served 130 years in a triple homicide in Indianapolis stabbed both of them on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Indiana State Police, an inmate attacked two correction officers in a common area of the prison around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday. Both officers were taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital, where one officer died and the other was in serious condition.
Tymetri Campbell, 38, from Indianapolis, faces multiple charges, including murder related to the knife wounds, the ISP said.
Campbell is serving 130 years in Indiana State Prison after pleading guilty to three murders in a 2002 Indianapolis shootout.
The brothers Keith Resnover (45) and Karl Resnover (46) were shot in September.
