Furious residents in Beetham Tower have demanded increased security arrangements after police were forced to raid a lockdown party with around 40 people present.
Officers first attended the apartment, understood to be a two-bed property on one of the highest floors in the building, at around 9pm on Friday after reports of a large gathering.
It is understood no one answered when police officers knocked on and they were unable to gather evidence of a breach of coronavirus laws.
However, Greater Manchester Police said they continued to receive reports about the gathering through the evening, and at around 2.50am on Saturday they were called to reports of a fight involving around 50 people.
Some revellers dispersed when police returned in force, but there was still around 40 people…
