Cape Town – While the Western Cape is moving forward with the launch of the Covid-19 vaccine, having vaccinated more than 2,700 healthcare workers so far, the prime minister said it will not yet be vaccinated.
Prime Minister Alan Winde made the announcement on Monday, while providing an update on the province’s Covid-19 statistics.
The Western Cape has recorded an additional 21 deaths, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths in the province to 11,055.
There are still 4,637 active cases, bringing the total confirmed Covid-19 cases to 274,046. The province has registered 258,354 recoveries and has performed 131,0996 Covid-19 tests.
There are 1,317 hospitalizations, of which 285 people are in ICU or high care.
