R9 billion allocated to the launch of the Covid-19 vaccine
The National Treasury has allocated R9 billion to finance the country’s Covid-19 vaccine implementation strategy.
This occurs when the government prioritizes the vaccination campaign to the public, free of charge, with the aim of saving many lives and supporting a total reopening of the economy.
Introducing the Budget Review on Wednesday, the National Treasury said ensuring access to Covid-19 vaccines is the government’s immediate priority.
“In the medium term, 9 billion rand is allocated for the launch of vaccines.
