Police to investigate unmasked prime minister of Mpumalanga
JOHANNESBURG – Police Minister Bheki Cele asked Police Commissioner Khehla Sitole to investigate the fact that the Prime Minister of Mpumalanga did not wear a mask in public.
Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane was seen arriving at the cemetery for Jackson Mthembu’s burial Sunday without a mask.
He claims that he was unaware of the fact that his mask had been broken.
Earlier in the funeral, Vice President David Mabuza instructed Mtsweni-Tsipane to put on the mask as he left the podium.
Cele says necessary action should be taken against the prime minister if the police commissioner discovers that she violated COVID-19 regulations.
