The latest witnesses in the reopened investigation into Neil Aggett’s death in custody testified on Monday, with the court hearing on Carl Niehaus’s mistake, along with the question of political interference in the handling of apartheid-era cases.
Carl Niehaus was left with balls in the face when he was forced on Monday to retract parts of his affidavit on reopening the investigation into the death of trade unionist Dr. Neil Aggett while in custody at the John Vorster Square Police Station in Johannesburg on February 5, 1982.
