Winter weather travel advisory in effect for Toronto

A winter weather travel advisory has been put into affect by Environment Canada this Sunday in Toronto, a day before the second lockdown is set to hit the city.

Snow has spread across the city this morning and is expected to continue to fall until this evening. About 7 to 14 cm of snow is expected with slippery roads and low visibility.

At approximately 12:53 p.m., Toronto police reported a four-vehicle collision in the Greenwood and Coxwell area as a result of icy roads. One of the vehicles collided into a stationary streetcar, but no injuries have been reported.

Eric Holmes, a spokesperson for the city of Toronto, has tweeted advising people to stay home if they can. This comes after a special weather statement was previously in effect on Saturday.
