Winnipeg police seize $11.5M in goods in interprovincial drug bust

WINNIPEG —
The Winnipeg Police Service seized a total of $11.5 million in goods, including drugs, Bitcoin and cars, during a months-long investigation into an inter-provincial drug network between British Columbia and Manitoba.
Officers with the Winnipeg Police Service’s Organized Crime Unit, with the help of a number of other police units, started the investigation into the cocaine trafficking cell, dubbed ‘Project Gold Dust,’ back in May 2020.
During this investigation, officers identified multiple members of a local group of drug traffickers, with a self-declared drug network name called ‘The Company.’
