Snow and rain make for tricky travel Monday in the GTA
Heavy snow mixed with rain is making for a tricky Monday morning commute.
Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory for Toronto, with snowfall of five centimetres expected. Snow is expected to fall into the afternoon but the period of heaviest snowfall will likely occur between about 5 and 9 a.m.
“The snow may become heavy at times resulting in reduced visibility,” the weather agency said in the advisory.
While the temperature remains just below the freezing mark, it’ll feel more like -7 Celsius in the morning due to the windchill. A high of 4 C is forecast for later in the day.
GO bus routes are operating slower than normal, commuters are advised to add 15-20 minutes to travel time to account for inclement weather delays.
