Manitoba reports 97 more COVID-19 cases on Monday and two more deaths as the province’s top doctor announced stricter rules for close contacts of known coronavirus cases.
That brings the total number of deaths related to the novel coronavirus in Manitoba to 886.
Of the new cases, more than half — 54 — are in the Winnipeg health region. There are also 36 cases in the Northern Health Region, four in the Interlake-Eastern health region, two in the Southern Health region and one in the Prairie Mountain Health region.
Both of the deaths were women in their 90s in the Winnipeg health region. One of them was linked to an outbreak at the Charleswood Care Centre.
