Victoria records two locally acquired COVID cases
Victoria has recorded two new locally acquired coronavirus cases on Friday after more than 16,500 tests in the past 24 hours.
The state’s health department confirmed zero new infections in returned travellers in hotel quarantine.
There are now 17 active cases in Victoria, made up of 11 locally acquired cases and six cases in hotel quarantine.
Friday’s new cases are primary close contacts of “pre-existing” cases and had been quarantining during their infectious period.
The fresh locally acquired cases come after six straight days of no new coronavirus infections in Victoria.
There are also two COVID-19 patients in hospital in Victoria.
