‘STAY AT HOME’: NSW orders thousands to quarantine amid Victorian cluster
New South Wales will enforce “stay-at-home” orders for Victorians and locals who have recently crossed the border.
Victoria at 11.59pm on Friday will enter five days of Stage 4 restrictions after a spate of COVID-19 cases.
It requires Victorians not to leave their home for anything outside of the four essential reasons, to wear masks in outdoor settings and to stay within 5km of their homes.
As a result of the restrictions, NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard will sign a directive mandating those rules also follow Victorians who have entered NSW.
The new rules also apply to NSW residents who have returned home from Victoria since Friday, January 29.
