Queensland to reopen border to Greater Melbourne from Saturday
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the state will reopen to Greater Melbourne from 1:00am on Saturday.
Thirty-six local government areas were declared a hotspot on February 13 and the border was closed for 14 days.
But as of Saturday, people coming to Queensland from those local government areas will no longer have to go through hotel quarantine or provide a border declaration pass.
Ms Palaszczuk told State Parliament it was “good news for our Victorian friends”.
“As we say, Queensland is the place to be, and from Saturday, family, friends and visitors from Victoria can once again experience all that our great state has to offer,” she said.
