Queensland slams border shut to the rest of New South Wales
Queensland will close the border to the rest of NSW, with Acting Premier Steven Miles saying the rising number of coronavirus cases is an ongoing concern.
Mr Miles said there would be a border zone in place for people who needed to live and travel across the border and checkpoints would be installed.
The border to NSW would be slammed shut from 1am on Friday, with any returning Queenslanders to enter hotel quarantine after that time.
The border will remain shut to NSW for four weeks, although Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said there could be an “earlier review”, depending on how the outbreak progressed.
