NSW remains on high alert as a COVID-19 cluster in southwest Sydney’s Oran Park continues to grow and authorities beg for more people to seek testing.
NSW recorded seven new cases of coronavirus – including five locally-transmitted cases – in the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday from almost 14,400 tests.
The five community cases were all connected to previously-reported infections in Sydney’s southwest, with the cluster around Oran Park growing to 18.
Three cases recorded on Saturday involve members of a family linked to the suburb’s Greater Beginnings childcare centre, another case is in a teacher at the centre and the final case concerns a student at Oran Park High School.
Saturday sport was cancelled for Oran Park High and authorities have directed all staff and pupils to self-isolate….
