New $200 travel voucher scheme to boost Melbourne tourism
Melbourne tourism businesses and attractions have been handed a lifeline in the form of a new travel voucher scheme after successive lockdowns crippled the industry.
Victorians will now be able to apply for a $200 vouchers to travel to the city, on top of the vouchers already released to help regional tourism.
The state government has tipped a further $10m into the scheme with 40,000 vouchers worth $200 to be offered up for travel and attractions in greater Melbourne.
Another 10,000 vouchers will also be offered up to support travel in regional Victoria, which takes the total number of vouchers under the scheme to 200,000.
