Man arrested after alleged assault of woman with sledgehammer at Sydney hotel
A man wanted over the alleged attempted murder of a woman at a luxury hotel in Sydney’s CBD on Tuesday night has been arrested.
Police on Wednesday issued a warrant for the arrest of Matthew Donaldson, 41, after a 26-year-old woman was allegedly bashed with a sledgehammer at the five-star Primus Hotel late on Tuesday night.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told the Herald on Thursday “he was arrested in bushland near Lapstone by dog squad personnel” about 4.50pm.
He was taken straight to Springwood police station and is assisting with inquiries, she said.
