Live: NSW Now: Cabinet in crisis meeting to finalise COVID vaccine rollout, train delays expected
Here’s what you need to know this morning.
COVID vaccine roll out
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian will hold a crisis Cabinet meeting this morning to finalise the state’s coronavirus vaccine rollout plan.
Ms Berejiklian has made it clear she would use the first doses for people who work in the quarantine system.
Priority will be given to doctors and nurses treating returned travellers with COVID-19, but also other workers involved in the system such as police officers, security guards and baggage handlers.
People living in aged care and disability homes will also be among the first vaccinated, but the federal government will coordinate that rollout.
NSW yesterday marked 30 consecutive days without a locally acquired case of coronavirus, and just one case in a returned traveller.
