Wanted man Matthew Donaldson’s chilling posts before ‘hammer attack on woman at Primus Hotel Sydney’
A man wanted over the alleged attempted murder of a woman in a luxury Sydney CBD hotel made chilling posts to social media hours before the attack.
Matthew Donaldson has been on the run since the attack at the Primus Hotel on Pitt Street on Tuesday night.
Police have issued a warrant for the 41-year-old’s arrest after he allegedly attacked a Belarus national, aged in her 30s, with a sledgehammer.
In a post to Facebook hours before the attack, Donaldson uploaded two photos of what appeared to be the inside of a hotel room.
The post was captioned: “Game over”.
After being asked by a friend in a comment, “What game are you playing”, Donaldson replied, “Life or death, I lost”.
Donaldson and the woman met in the hotel foyer before he took her to his room in what may have been a pre-arranged visit.
Police don’t believe the pair knew each other before the meeting.
The woman was rushed to hospital with critical head injuries following the attack.
‘Do not approach’
Police are still conducting inquiries and appealing for public assistance to locate Donaldson.
He has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 182cm tall with a solid build and light brown hair.
It’s believed he could be in the Blue Mountains area and may be armed with a gun.
Anyone who sees the 41-year-old is urged not to approach him but to contact Triple Zero immediately.
