Almost 200 Victorians have been fined in the past 24 hours for breaking the state’s strict coronavirus rules.

Thirty-nine people were fined for not wearing a mask, six fined at vehicle checkpoints and 62 fined for breaking curfew.

A further 90 people were fined for an undisclosed reason.

One Victoria told police he was travelling on a city-bound train near Lalor, outside the 5km radius of his home, because he wanted to “get some fresh air”.

Another was found at a service station at 1am to buy cigarettes and lollies.

He was also not wearing a face mask.

One of the more lucrative breaches Victoria Police have reported is a man who was found more than 120km from his home.
